About / beyond the CV

A life shaped by deliberate leaps.

My family immigrated from China to Curaçao when I was five. I grew up in the Dutch education system, between languages and cultures, and learned early how to adapt without losing where I came from.

Reinvention is rarely one dramatic move. It is a series of carefully chosen next steps.

Chapter 01

Curaçao

Growing up between worlds

Difference became a capability.

My family immigrated to Curaçao when I was 5.

At home, school and in daily life, I moved between Cantonese, English, Dutch and Papiamentu. A Dutch education gave me structure; Curaçao gave me cultural range. Together they made adapting, listening and translating across contexts feel natural.

I stayed in Curaçao for university rather than place international tuition on my parents. While completing a Business Administration degree, I began my audit career at PwC Dutch Caribbean and initiated my own Dutch naturalisation process.

Building a life in the Netherlands

Ambition met structure.

In 2014 I moved to the Netherlands for full-time postgraduate study — self-funded, deliberately chosen. The Dutch system shaped how I work: direct, structured and precise, with room for independent judgement.

It became the base for everything that followed: PwC external audit, international internal audit across Europe and the Americas, controllership at Kraft Heinz, an independent consulting practice and a Dutch real-estate portfolio.

The route, not just the result

2014

A passport and a new beginning

I completed naturalisation and graduated in the same year, then moved to the Netherlands for full-time postgraduate study. It was a self-funded decision to invest in a wider future.

2019

The world as a classroom

I left external audit when the learning curve flattened and chose internal audit for international exposure. More than 70 flights took me across eight countries and broadened how I see risk, operations and people.

2020

The pivot I did not plan

I had intended to take time out to travel, but COVID brought me back to the Netherlands. I joined Kraft Heinz to learn finance from inside the business, then used lockdown time to build an e-commerce company.

2021–24

From founder to investor

Consulting funded the growing venture and brought more senior assignments. When e-commerce reached 200 SKUs, I chose focus over momentum, closed an unsustainable model and redirected the capital into Dutch real estate.

2025–26

Rest, then renewed ambition

A six-month break finally created the space to travel and reset. I returned for finance leadership experience, then rejoined the Big Four to deepen my work in governance, major organisations and applied AI.

Hong Kong: the next chapter

With a QMAS visa secured in August 2026, I am closing the Netherlands chapter thoughtfully and moving closer to family while opening a new professional chapter.

Closer to roots. Open to what’s next.

With a QMAS visa secured in August 2026, I am closing the Netherlands chapter thoughtfully and moving closer to family — opening the next professional chapter within reach of China.
